What does volunteering at MCA / PDE mean?
MCA /PDE volunteerism represents ownership and community. The new structure of MCA is designed to reduce overhead cost and make Christian school affordable to moderate income families. Volunteering is not only a way to defer direct cost, but to build a sense of community and ownership. We predicate the quality of our program on families participating in necessary and essential ways. No one job is more glorious or essential than any other. The Bible speaks very clearly of distinct parts making up the perfectly functioning body. Each part needs the other. For example, if you are a family that does not have the flex time to work on site, or could afford to pay the additional $500 in lieu of 40 hours of volunteer service, this would allow MCA to hire the needed service that the school family does not have within its direct resources. The following list represents a variety of diverse jobs that need to be filled, but equally important, to build community and ownership.
· Teaching Fine Arts, music, drama, computer or other enrichment classes.
· Janitorial or maintenance work weekends or after school
· AM Receptionist 8 – 9 AM, not necessarily everyday
· AM arrival and PM dismissal monitors.
· Reading group and teacher aide
· Monitors for study hall, computer lab, PBL
· Recess and lunch monitors
Others areas of service:
· School event days
· Field trips
· Workday, late Aug TBA
Many have already volunteered, some have already completed their hours this summer, and some we have not heard from. Please email MCA to signup or inquire more about any particular area of service. Your email will be directed to the appropriate person. info@milfordchristianacademy.org
