Camp Carleton Campout Friday Night 12-08
High School Boys are invited to a camp out at Camp Carleton ( my wooded back yard) Friday night. I will transport students after school. Parents can pick up their children any time before noon. Temperatures are going to be mild (in the high 20's) because there is a chance of snow. I will take care of food and tents if you don't have one. Dress warm and bring two sleeping bags if you don't have a winter bag). A sleeping pad is essential. I will check everyone for readiness. For parents, I have extra gear and anyone who gets cold can always go inside my house. (but who would do that!) Here is the equipment list from the MCA website. http://www.milfordchristianacademy.org/trips.htm Adjust accordingly.
I am not running this as an MCA trip, but I need a hand written permission slip from your parents. I'd love have more adult company.

Snow Days and Assignments and PBL
Dear Parents,
We are planning on a snow day tomorrow but check the blog site, WMUR or WZID.
Because MCA has changed its academic approach with core curriculum focus on Tuesday and Thursday and independent learning on Monday and Wednesday snow days are not lost days.
Students were reminded on Friday to bring all their books home. They should complete all their assignments due on Tuesday. Assignments are online and students have a hard copy as well.
Week 3 of PBL is "Active Research" . Students have 10 hours of research they must complete and document. Most of that should be completed this week. For this reason alone snow days are not a loss.
In the future MCA will be reluctant to call a snow day. Students 7-11 have plenty of work they can complete at home because they know their assignments ahead of time and will be reminded to bring home their books. If at any time you feel the weather conditions put your children at risk we encouraged you to keep them home. We will understand.
