Message from Tom Harris, PAC Chairman

February 25, 2008
Dear Parents,
Greetings and God Bless to All. Can you believe we’re well into the second half of the school year? It’s been a good first half for my son, Ben as he has adjusted well to the curriculum and a smaller group of classmates.
This year has also been a good adjustment for me in becoming more involved in the workings of the school. I must say I expected to keep the volunteering requirement aspect at arms length for as long as possible, but needs just kept showing up in front of me to which I found myself responding “Oh, alright, I can do that”, or raising my hand right up through all my premeditated excuses.
Putting in Volunteer Hours is something each and every one of us as parents of MCA- that have chosen to volunteer instead of pay extra- committed to in September. Not only is the volunteer work to be done our responsibility, it’s also a need … AND … it’s an opportunity. And I do believe that opportunity has risen as the tallest of the three for me.
It started with pushing my hand up to volunteer to be part of PAC. The result has been an opportunity to work with 6 other very special folks. Another day I had a chance to substitute teach my sons class, I now know his classmates by face and name. And last Saturday pull up some rather old belligerent carpet so as to make way for the new.
A detailed list of Volunteering Opportunities will be emailed to all parents within the next few days, and everything on the list is a “must do”. In all reality MCA’s success rest on the shoulders of each and every one of us. That’s how it has been set up, and I believe God is right in the middle pulling for us to succeed.

God’s Best to You,

Tom Harris (PAC Chairman)
