A request for PC's

Dear Parents and Friends of MCA,
There is a computer lab at MCA that is in need of your help! I keep the computers in our lab up and running and although we are all thankful that we have a lab of 16 computers (plus 2 in Mr Sontag's room), they are quite old, some over 10 years! These poor old machines run slowly and often break down. It would be just wonderful to upgrade the computers in the lab. Do you know where we might get newer computers donated to the lab? If you are upgrading your newer (old) computer and want to donate it to the school, I will prepare it for student use. Even machines 2-4 years old are far better than the ones we have! Any donations of NEW pc's would be a tremendous blessing!! Please consider asking friends and family to make a computer donation this year to MCA! If you know of any available computers, please call me to tell me what you desire to donate, or ask any questions at 672-3209. Thank you, Gaby Harris

Final Girls Basketball Update!

The MCA girls basketball team capped off their season with a 2-2 record in the tournament. The girls played four tough teams and had two amazing games, the other two were hard losses. All the girls played great and put up a good battle, it just wasn't meant to be. Sheila Peterson lead the scoring for the Lady Eagles, followed by Liz Beaulieu, Saisha Durham, Lisa Beaulieu and Kirsten Weber. They came in third place out of five teams.

This was a fun season, to say the least and each player improved from the start of the season. The girls had great attitudes on and off the court and really had a good team spirit. The highlight of the season was coming in second in the Kingdom Covenant Tournament down at Mass Maritime and not having Liz foul out of the last game of the tournament! I had such a great time coaching the girls, everyone worked hard and they were a fun team to coach, frustrating at times, but always fun! I look forward to next season and giving the girls at TNT a run for first place!

Christiancast-MCA PBL Communication

Progress-Based Learning PBL has taken another new step this year. This time it is into the arena of broadcasting. Because of the capabilities of a few exceptionally gifted students in the area of video editing and website design we are about to produce our first news program and post it on the web. The concept is to produce a distinctly Christian newscast that will contrast the secular slant on the news with a more fair and biblical approach. We will also highlight MCA school news as well as other local and church news.

Students are excited and teachers as we pilot through waters previously charted by MCA curriculum.

*****If any parent does not want their child's picture on the broadcast please notify me ASAP. No student's picture will be identified with his or her real name.

Trusting Him for wisdom,

Paul Sontag, Melissa Longval

Grades are posted for Grades 7-12

Dear Parents,

Mrs. Longval and I have discovered that some students have not been seeing their grades for quite a while after they have been posted. The purpose of grades every three weeks is give students a fast turn around time if there are any difficulties. . Parents have ample opportunity to consult with a teacher if there is a question about grading, missing assignments or the need for more help. This is one part of the PDE philosophy that is non negotiable.

Students will receive a hard copy of their grades this marking period only. We plan to use them for teaching our study skills curriculum.

PARENT CONFERENCES: If you have not had a parent conference yet the times to sign up are every day after school at 2:45 PM or Thursday evening by appointment. I have had a great time reviewing students personal learning strategies with parents. paulsontag@comcast.net It appears to be a very helpful time for student, teacher and parent. It certainly helps to get us on the same page and answer any questions that parents have concerning what happens on MWF.

Serving Him Joyfully,

Paul Sontag
