High school grades will be posted this weekend. You will notice that grades for week Jan 21-26 are compressed into Monday and Tuesday. The softwear ends the quarter on Jan 22. No values can be entered into the other days until the following week. This does not effect the quarter grades.

Sandford Achievement Test
Dear Parents,
We are planning to administer SAT testing April 16-18. There is a $15 charge for these tests this year. We anticipate all student will take these tests. Please submit a check to the school office before Feb. 7 for ordering purposes. If we don't here form you we will not order the tests and your child will not have school on those days.

Our goal is to have a representative from each family at this important meeting to announce the course and direction for the 2008-09 school year.

2. PAC Parent Advisory Council update and sharing
3. Elementary update and upcoming important dates and events
4. Student Profiles 7-11. Explanation of Learning Strategies for individual students for upcoming parent conference.

New Basketball Update
The Lady Eagles played their best game of the season, but came up just short against St. Maries, 22 to 26. Everyone played great on defense, but St. Maries kept the pressure on. Liz Beaulieu had her highest scoring game of the season, with a huge fourteen points. Becca Peterson followed with six points and the scoring was rounded out with two points from Sheila Peterson.
The girls next game is Thursday evening against Hollis/Brookline. Game time is 6:30. Come cheer the girls on atHollis/Brookline Middle School.

Basketball Update
The Lady Eagles played their best defensive game of the season, but came up short against Milford Middle School, 29-11. Liz Beaulieu had the hot hand for MCA scoring seven points. Becca Peterson and Lisa Beaulieu each added two points. The whole team played great defense, but were weak in the offensive zone.
The girls will try to regroup for their next game against an always tough St. Maries, Friday, 1/25, at 6:30, with a boys game to follow. The girls should be to the gym by 6:00 for warm-ups. What better way to spend a Friday evening than watching on your MCA basketball teams, come up to Manchester and cheer the Eagles on to victory!

More Girls Basketball!!
The girls basketball team played a great game against Concord Christian Academy, but came up a bit short. The Lady Eagles were only down by one point at the half, but couldn't put things together in the second half and lost to Concord Christian Academy.
Liz Beaulieu lead the scoring with ten points, followed by Sheila Peterson with six and Annelise Beaulieu rounded out the scoring with two.
The girls next game is Wednesday, January 23rd, against Milford Middle School, at the MMS. Gametime for the girls is 5:00 PM. The girls should be to the gym earlier to warm up during half time of the boys game, which starts at 3:30 PM.

The girls basketball team played a good game against a very strong High Mowing School. Liz Beaulieu was the high scorer for MCA with eight points and Becca Peterson had six. Kirsten Weber played a tough game, Saisha Durham and Sheila Peterson both hustled but were scoreless.
The girls play Concord Christian on Thursday, January 17th and are looking for their first victory. The game will be played at South Merrimack Christian Academy at 3:30, come and cheer the Lady Eagles on to victory!

It is the purpose of PAC, Parent Advisory Council, to keep an accurate record of each family's contribution. Update Monday Snowstorm and PBL
Dear Parents,
Weather reports predict 6-12 inches of snow starting predawn and continuing through the day. We will make a decision ASAP and post it on the blog, WZID and WMUR. Students have their assignments for Tuesday. This should not be a lost academic day. If students have forgotten to plan for a storm possibility students should work diligently on PBL presentations.
This is week#7 PBL. Thursday and Friday will give students opportunity to practice their completed PBL presentations. Their products and trifold boards are required for practice presentations. PBL presentations will take place on Jan 22 and 23th. from 11-2 PM on Tuesday and 8:30 -12:15 PM on Wedsday. Please sent me an email to schedule a time that will fit into your work and family schedule. First come, first serve. We encourage you to support your child by attending their presentations if possible.

It is that time once again to look forward in the 2008-09 school year. We thank you for your great support this year and hope we have earn your respect and trust for the next year. We are starting the enrollment process early this year so we can all make well informed decisions for next year.
Please attend a meeting at 7 PM on Monday January 28th, with a rain date for February 4th.
Students in grades 7-11 have been developing Life-long Learning Strategies to assist them in becoming stronger active learners. We want to share this important information with parents. Second quarter PBL projects will also be on display this evening.

PBL Week # 6 Overview and update

We are starting week # 6 of PBL. Students will be finishing their main product (invention, model, demonstration etc.) Most students are completing this phase at home. Thus, we recommend they work on their other communication products (power point and trifold boards, bring in ASAP) at school during PBL block. Please check PBL site for PBL documents 18,19,21,22. http://www.milfordchristianacademy.org/pl.htm Students will begin to plan their final presentation and complete it during week #7. Presentations are scheduled for week # 8 on Tuesday 1/22 and Wednesday 1/23. A schedule will appear next week. Please plan to support your child whenever possible by attending these presentations.
