The presence of His Son in our daily life is obviously the most precious gift of all, but He also uses other people to bless as well.
Through the Harris' and another school family we have 20 new (upgraded with monitors, keyboards and mice, all Pentium 4) computers is our lab. Through PAC and matching funds we also have another $4000 for development, ear-marked for elementary needs.
We also have new carpets in the elementary classrooms. This will help with warmth and cleaning which was the motivating factor for the change.
God is good all the time, regardless of His earthly gifts. I pray we all find Him in a special way this Christmas. Emmanuel!

MCA has school on Monday Dec. 15
Dear School Family,
If you can not attend school, please check in and tell us your state of affairs so we can pray for you.
Our first goal is to have a successful Dinner / Theater on Thursday night. Friday we will have a delayed opening. School begins at 9 AM.
Our second goal is to complete PBL this week before Christmas break. Binder check and Reflective Paper were due last week. Please check with your child to make sure your child is up to date. Please have your child practice their presentation in front of an audience many times.
Check the blog for assignments adjustments. We are trying to contact all upper school families to inform them of assignments and deadlines.

No School Thursday, December 11, 2008
Dear Parents,
Please remember that students in the upper school especially have their assignments online and are responsible for completing them. We have learned from last year that snow days should not be wasted days academically. If, by chance, they are not prepared to complete assignments they should concentrate on their PBL presentations. We have emphasized that they can not read their presentation from their notes. They must be looking at the audience at least 60% of the time. They need to practice their complete presentation out loud, in front of an audience, many times, five or more. This is something they can do even if they did not bring books home.
If you find that your child was not prepared to work at home, please use this as a lesson in preparing better the next time.
Looking forward to the Dinner/ Theater tomorrow night.
There is still a chance of a delayed opening tomorrow, but those involved in cooking need to make a special effort to get to school since they are cooking all day with Chef Nick.
Thanks,
MCA Staff

Need a Last Minute Tax Deduction?
If you are looking for a last minute tax deduction, then please consider giving to Milford Christian Academy. As a non-profit organization, MCA relies on the generosity of others, both in volunteer capacity as well as monetarily, to help the school function smoothly. Money received from donations goes toward the general operating expenses of the school including, but not limited to, classroom supplies and equipment, office supplies, utlities, building maintenance, etc. If you do decide to give, please put "donation" in the memo and have your check into the office no later than Noon on Friday, December 19th.
Thank you so much and be blessed!

Angel Tree
Dear MCA Family-
As a ministry of Light of the World Christian Church, MCA is participating in Angel Tree. Angel tree is a program that brings food and gifts to local families of inmates. There is a donation box at the school to collect non-perishable food and toiletry items. Paper products for both the kitchen and the bathroom are always welcome as well as a gift card, in any amount, to a local grocery store. (You may also visit the LWCC website for more details.)
We have also "adopted" a 10 year old boy in the local area. We would like to encourage each student to donate one dollar toward this cause. If each student brought in one dollar, then we could plan to purchase an article of clothing as well as a play item. It seems that this child likes Tech Decks and skateboarding, and wears a size 10-12 in both tops and bottoms. It is not expected that any parent/student would shop for this child, however, if the Lord moves you to do that, then that would most certainly be a blessing. We are ultimately looking to collect one dollar from each student to support this child. If you could plan to give this donation to the office (through your child's teacher) no later than December 12th, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support!
May God Bless you this joyful season!

This is just a reminder regarding the MCA Christmas program on Friday December 12th! Please plan to support the culinary arts class by coming for dinner at 6pm.
Tickets are currently on sale and the order form can be downloaded from our website through a previous blog. The dinner serves as the culinary arts class final exam, as well as a school fundraiser. Orders must be in by Friday December 5th!
Then, plan to attend our Christmas Play "Send'n Out Love" put on by our elementary students and directed by our parent volunteer, Angela Lehoux. The play will start at 7:15 pm.
Due to the increased number of activities occurring this night, we will plan to start serving dinner promptly at 6:00pm.
See you there!
Praise God for you all and many blessings this Christmas season.
