MCA Upper School Community Service Day Friday 4/17
The upper school will be sending three teams of students to help three local families between the hours of 8 AM and 12 PM. Students will return to MCA and be dismissed at 12 PM. Students should dress to do yard work and bring gloves and rakes if possible.
We encourage parents to send their children to school even though this is not an academic day. MCA regards Community Service as an important part of the school curriculum. Please help us develop and cultivate a servant heart in our student body.
Thank You,
Paul Sontag, Principal

FRIDAY April 17th - Serving our neighbors!
Dear upper school families-
The Lord has presented MCA with three families requiring our help with the December Ice Storm clean-up! The MCA upper school will be performing community service, in an effort to assist these families, from 8am to 12 noon on Friday April 17th. Students will be granted 3 to 4 community service hours for their efforts.
Please plan to wear jeans (not ripped) and an appropriate T-shirt/Sweatshirt and sneakers. Plan to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, bug spray, and a snack. If you have a rake available, then please bring that along as well!
We will be leaving the school right after the morning opening and returning to the school by 12:30pm.
The Lord calls us to reach out to those in need, and some of our neighbors are in need of our help. MCA holds as a core value, the molding of a servant heart and community service. It is our prayer that our students would embrace this as an opportunity to share the love of Christ and to be an ambassador for Him.
Any home school students who have been taking the SATs at MCA, are more than welcome to join us in our service.
Many Blessings

SAT Testing Begins Tomorrow!
Hello MCA Family!
This is a reminder that SAT testing begins tomorrow. Please have your child here between 7:45 and 7:55 AM so that testing can begin promptly at 8:00 AM. We cannot stress enough how important this is! If your child arrives late and testing has already begun, your child will need to wait until a scheduled break time to join with his or her class so as not disturb the rest of the class. Then, your child will need to make arrangements to stay late to make up the portions of the testing her or she missed because of being tardy.
Additionally, your child needs to bring in a sharpened #2 pencil, a ruler, a snack, and a book should he or she finish early. Thank you so much for your help in making the SAT testing run as smoothly as possible!

Now Accepting Yearbook Orders!
Hello family!
The yearbook committee is wrapping up the final touches on our 2008-2009 yearbook! Your child should have brought home an order form to order one. If the little mouse in their backpacks hid it somewhere between school and home, we do have extras! We wanted to make it possible for each child to get a yearbook and we certainly understand how expensive buying multiple yearbooks can be per family, so the first yearbook purchased is $20.00, and each additional yearbook is $15.00! Please fill out one form per family and have your child return it with FULL payment to their teacher or Mrs. Widner. Cash or checks will be accepted -please make payable to Milford Christian Academy (and write "yearbook," on the memo line!). The deadline for all orders and payments is Wednesday, April 22nd.
Blessings to all of you, and thank you for a great year!!
:) Mrs. Widner & Mrs. Peterson

Announcing the new Tuition Asisstance Program!!
MCA is excited to announce the establishment of the new Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), with the goal of aiding current and future student families with their tuition costs. Presently, a very generous donor has contributed $5,000 in matching funds to set up and start this program. We pray and believe that this initiative will motivate others to donate to this worthy endeavor.
If you are interested in applying for tuition assistance for the 09-10 school year, please visit the new TAP portion of our website located here for downloadable forms and instructions: http://www.milfordchristianacademy.org/tap.htm . Applications must be received in entirety no later than April 24th.
If you can afford it, please pray about making a donation toward the Tuition Assistance Program. The goal of MCA is to have a minimum of $10,000 to offer for tuition assistance for 09-10 school year. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation for the Tuition Assistance Program, you may donate via Paypal here: http://www.milfordchristianacademy.org/paytuition.htm (scroll to near the bottom), or make your check payable to Milford Christian Academy with “TAP” in the memo line.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office for assistance.
May God richly bless you!
